It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to highlight one of our very talented and unique Boosters! This week’s Employee Spotlight goes to Senior Customer Success Manager – Derek Leung.
As Senior Customer Success Manager, Derek provides leadership to his pod and helps facilitate the relationships that each of his team members has with their customers. Specifically, Derek is tasked with developing and ensuring that his team’s overall strategy for client success is executed efficiently and to manage the escalation points for each pod member.
Derek’s top line goal is to retain Boost’s existing clients by fostering a mutually beneficial relationships between our organization and our customers. As pod leader, he strives to help each of his team members grow – both personally and professionally.
Most recently, Derek spent eight months as the Director of Client Operations at DemandLocal, a digital agency startup focused on the automotive industry. Previously to that, he spent three and a half years as the Search Engine Marketing Manager for Macy’s.com. As an SEM manager, Derek oversaw a variety of Macy’s search strategies for a number of their different family businesses.
Derek is a San Francisco native and attended UC Riverside where he received his undergraduate degree in Business Economics. When he’s not helping out customers at Boost HQ, Derek enjoys spending time outdoors grilling, attending Giants baseball games and golfing.
What Derek likes most about being part of the Boost family is his ability to join the organization at such an exciting period of growth. He explains that Boost is still small enough to get to know your coworkers on a more personal level, but we’re also rapidly growing and bringing in more smart and passionate people to help take our company to the next level. In addition to taking an active role in the exciting expansion and evolution of Boost Media, Derek also enjoys his ability to develop his own career roadmap. As Derek elaborates, working at a small sized company allows for more transparency within the organization, providing the perfect environment for personal and professional growth.
