Pilates and Massage Owned 2024. 2025 Trends Got Colder and More Personal!

According to the fitness booking program, Classpass, pilates and massage were your favorite things to do last year.
Last year was a good year for fitness in general. Classpass reported a 51% increase in bookings from 2023, but it’s not just their platform. Fitness on Demand reported a growth in the industry across the board. Fitness influencers on social media, and a rising awareness of the benefits of self-care (which includes exercise and stress reduction), may be leading to this boom.
Pilates was the most booked fitness class in 2024, coming in on top of yoga (2nd place) and strength training (3rd). Classpass thinks Pilates reign is “Fueled by its strong social media presence and devoted following.”
Massage was the most booked wellness service, which comes as no surprise to us. Massages can help reduce stress and pain, and just feel good. Nails and Sauna rounded up the top three, with saunas starting to grow in popularity globally.
Which fitness trends are on the rise for 2025?
While low-impact strength training came in at number 10 on the list for 2024, it “Saw a whopping 109% increase in reservations” in 2024 on the Classpass platform. While cardio helps keep hearts and minds healthy, a growing awareness of the benefits of strength training for healthy aging may be spurring on this trend.
When it comes to services, body scans, body sculpting, and cosmetic treatments also saw a lot of growth in 2024. “These newcomers highlight a move toward specialized, results-driven wellness experiences,” according to Classpass.
The wellness industry has been at the forefront of “everybody is different” What works for one person might not feel good to someone else. The rise in personalized workouts driven by wearable data is a logical extension of this, and we think 2025 might see more personalized workouts, functional fitness classes, and micro-workouts as people continue adapting fitness trends based on their lifestyle needs.
